THE VISION
Work.

Live.

Grow.
Grow
Bradford Estates’ proposals are based on five fundamental aims:
A Lasting Contribution to Shropshire
We recognise that Shropshire is a special county with a proud heritage and our overriding priority is to ensure that the new community we intend to create will make a lasting and sustainable contribution to its future success and prosperity.
We understand
that building much needed homes and employment spaces alone is not enough. We believe success is about creating
opportunities and putting in place the foundations from which a community can
grow; a community which positively contributes to its surrounding area as much
as it draws inspiration from it. Yet it is also a community which fully embraces
the opportunities around enhanced digital connectivity, as well as becoming an
exemplar for climate resilience and biodiversity.
An inclusive and collaborative approach
We understand that developments which actively seek to
incorporate local knowledge, ideas and aspirations and include the
infrastructure, amenities and employment opportunities to support them are the
ones which truly thrive as new communities – both in their own right and as
part of the wider local environment. To
achieve this we understand the importance of working with local residents,
businesses and organisations and welcome all views and insights.
A commitment to quality
This is our home and our legacy, which is why we take
quality extremely seriously and expect the highest standards in everything we
do. We have hired specialist consultants
across a range of disciplines to ensure we have the best team possible to
create the development Shropshire deserves, both aesthetically and economically.
We are here to stay and retain ultimate control
of the project over the very long term as one part of a wider estate, we are
uniquely placed to ensure that what comes forward meets our own exacting
requirements and the needs of the county and neighbouring communities as a
whole.
Making the most of our surroundings
We recognise that the site does not sit in isolation: it
already benefits from neighbouring villages, towns and RAF Cosford. We want to
create a place where people, young and old and from all walks of life can
aspire to work, live and visit; integrating the new with existing areas, to
create one cohesive community across the wider area.
Garden village principles
The proposal takes inspiration from what has been achieved at projects such as Poundbury in Dorset and will incorporate key Garden Village Principles including:
- Providing a wide range of skilled local jobs within easy commuting distance of homes.
- Beautiful and imaginatively designed homes with gardens within distinct neighbourhoods.
- Combining the best of town and country to create healthy communities.
- Aiming for a net positive impact on biodiversity.
- Using zero pollution, zero carbon energy generation and smart technologies to eliminate contribution to climate change.
